Hi everyone,

I'm brand new here and am thrilled to have found this community!

Over the summer, we purchased an older home and are now in the process of fixing it up. There's some controversy over whether it was built in 1916 or 1921, but it's a 3 bedroom 1 bath with (what I think is) a tudor style interior. I'm sorry for the shabby look of the house in this pic, but this was the poor state it was in when we bought it.

I want to stay true to the original style of the house while restoring it and would love to know more about the style's history. Could any of you identify the style of home that we purchased?

Thank you so much in advance for any input! :)

Thanks,
Laura

Well your bungalow house actually looks a lot like ours here in Portland, Oregon. Yours has an oriental feel to me - lovely columns and clean lines of the dormer. Wish you would post more photos as it's hard to be specific other than to say it is definitely a craftsman bungalow - it's bracket, window trim, porch detailing and roof form give that away.
