OK - someone may benefit from this.... I've been watching my neighbor remuddle his 1926 Milwaukee bungalow all winter. He took down the wall between the living room & enclosed porch, to expand the living room. He removed the dining room built-in (we snagged that sucker from the curb!) and we're getting 2 prairie style doors from him (perfect for us). Anyway, this week he replaced some windows with a picture window(!). He just called me to ask if I know anyone that may be in the market for (13) 3over1 windows. I told him I'd post something here & see what happens. If you're interested, let me know (we're in Milwaukee).

P.S. - Don't tell him I don't like his "remuddle"! He's really a good guy at heart!

I'll find out for sure, but I assume they do.

We'd also be interested if they have either 4 that match or 2 prs of 2 that match. Please let me know.

He has (or will have - a couple are still installed in his house for a few more days) a total of 13 matching windows. I believe the sizes are the same for all. The weights & chains are all there.

Neighbor told me today they have to go by this weekend or they're getting dumped. His wife wants them out of the way.

What a shame. Is there a salvage place in town that would take/buy them from him? I hate to see them go in the dump!

Sounds like he's stripping all the character and craftsmanship from his house. I have a friend who replaced his front doors and pitched his art deco door trim. It was "easier" to just put up new (colonial!!!!).

I'm so glad our house was virtually untouched when we bought it!

There's no way we can get there this weekend but would have been interested in 4 if there was more time. I hope you/he can convince him/the wife to donate/sell those windows to a salvage place.

If you are seriously interested, I can probably talk him/her into holding them a little while longer.

I'm going to check into the salvage thing for him. It's killing me to see what he's doing to this house (he's quite proud of it). To them, it's just a house.
