Post installing heat
Hello all...my husband and I are looking at a small (~800 sq. ft) California bungalow with some nice woodwork and detailing preserved. But the only heating in the house (aside from the fireplace!) is an ugly wall furnace. I'd love to get some old-style cast iron radiators but I don't have much idea how much it costs to install a new central heating system, and there are so many different kinds out there. Can you give me advice as to what heating systems would be most appropriate for the house, and even a vague ballpark idea of the installation costs? I know it's a pretty big project.

I'm not an HVAC expert by any means, but I do know that period radiators can be found readilly with a quick search on the internet - Finding a contractor is another story al togeather though.

I would look for someone who's been in the business for atleast 20 years - That should date them to before most of the high efficency heaters and boilers hit the market. I think it would take someone with this kind of skill background to help you out

I hope this helps

Cheers,
