I'm looking to find tiles similar to the ones in the foyer of the house on the cover of issue 68. They seem to be 4x8" glazed tiles, but I'm having a tough time finding them online. The cover image is pretty saturated and the colors are a bit off. The actual tiles, featured in the mag are a bit softer in color, more earth toned. I went to a few tiles stores and the salesmen had no clue.

Anyone know of a manufacturer that makes something similar?

Brian, I had the pleasure of visiting the Via's house last summer in Rochester and got to see these tiles in person. While I did not ask about them I noticed that they appeared to be similar to tiles sold here in Portland, Oregon by an outfit called DalTile. http://website.informer.com/visit?domai ... oducts.com
I suspect that there are several manufacturers who make tiles similar to these. If you intend to place them on the floor make sure they are not faience which is for walls. Stoneware or porcelain would be in order for floor traffic. You could also write to American Bungalow's staff and ask them to have Marie Via contact you. That is what I did when I knew we were headed to Rochester for a summer wedding. John Brinkman put me in touch with people in that part of NY state who knew about bungalow architecture and Marie Via was one of them. She and Jim were wonderful people and my family and I found them to be very gracious in openning their home to us visitors from afar. - Don Rouzie
