The original windows of my 1922 Bungalow are long gone, and the windows now in place are the cheapest and shoddiest ones from Lowes. We've looked around, but we haven't found any locally that we like. Where's a good place to mail-order windows? Or good instructions for building our own?

Re: Replacing Bargain-Basement Windows
Are the jambs still around or was everything cut out when the new ones (vinyl?) installed?
Were the originals casements or double-hungs?
Can you post some photos?

No jambs.
I doubt there were casements. I've yet to see casement windows this far South.
IDK about photos. We're still moving in and the computer isn't fully set up yet.
