Bungalow kitchen plan from 1916
Such a funky find in a book about Domestic Science from 1914. It was a floor plan and wall plans for "the best way to lay out a kitchen" and it solved some mysteries for us. We've got it up today on the site:

Neat plan, I particularly like the comment "refrigerator can be iced from porch."

Yes, I noticed that ice and refrigerator too. We have a 1913 bungalow in San Diego with the tiniest rear screened porch (7'x5') off the kitchen. I was wondering if that's where the ice chest went, as the kitchen is so small you can hardly swing a cat.

We're pretty sure ours must have been backed up to the backyard because the metal cap for the ice drain is still in the floor!
