Post Fort Worth, TX bungalow neighborhoods?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any bungalow neighborhoods in the Fort Worth, TX area. I am having to relocate to the area in next few months, yet I haven't a clue as to where to look for bungalow type homes.
Thank you for any info or leads...
I live north of Fort Worth and my wife and I enjoy looking at older homes. There are two areas I like to look around that I have found:

There is a one large neighborhood south of the intersection of Forest Park Blvd and W. Rosedale St. This area has a large number of older home styles. This is just south of downtown and I30.

Also north of Camp Bowie Blvd, west of University Dr., are quite a few older homes, with a lot of tudors.

I also found this listed on a web site, but have not been to this area:
Elizabeth Boulevard Historic District
Elizabeth Boulevard between Hurley and College Avenues in Fort Worth. A collection of dwellings built mostly between 1911 and 1920.

One way I like to see older houses in an area is to go to www.realtor.com and do a specific search for older homes in a certain town. That will give you some addresses and names of the neighborhoods.

Almost all of the older homes are on the south side of Fort Worth.
Hi! I live in one of the neighborhoods... I can give you the name of my realtor if you will email me... her company specializes in historic properties. My neighborhood is Fairmount, and the neighborhood with Elizabeth Blvd. is Ryan Place. The first neighborhood Garrick mentioned is Mistletoe Heights... very nice. There are also bungalows in Berkely place, which is basically the next neighborhood south of Mistletoe. The area off of Camp Bowie is Arlington Heights.

Both Fairmount and Mistletoe Heights are designated historic neighborhoods... I don't believe any of the others are. That, and the fact that Fairmount is a little more affordable because it is... er... transitional, are why I bought in Fairmount. In Arlington Heights, people often buy a home, raize the existing structure, and build something that is completely out of place.

There is another website you might be interested in:
