If you have access to a car, head into Detroit and on E. Jefferson is the Pewabic Pottery. They've been in business since about 1900 and have a showroom and offer tours of their tile making. Motawi Tile is in Ann Arbor, west of Ypsi, but I don't know if they have tours or a shop on site. Both places have websites. Have a good trip!
